Savent chimney sweep log is designed for cleaning brick and metal chimneys, solid fuel boilers, stoves, stove fireplaces, and open and closed-type fireplaces. The catalytic action of the product is aimed at loosening soot and tar and turning them into ash that settles in the firebox. This helps increase efficiency, extend the life of the chimney and boiler or fireplace, save fuel, and reduce the likelihood of chimney fires.
Application:
After an hour of fuel burning, take the chimney sweep log out of the cardboard box and place it in the heating appliance. Once the log ignites, the process of cleaning the chimney and heating appliance from soot and tar begins. The gases produced during combustion interact with the tar and soot, drying and making them brittle. The soot and tar deposits break down, with some falling down the chimney and the rest being expelled with the smoke. Depending on the type of fuel and its moisture content, the cleaning effect will last from two weeks to one month.
Precautions:
Do not use the chimney sweep log if there is no draft in the chimney. If the chimney has never been cleaned or the draft is very weak, it is advisable to perform mechanical cleaning using brushes with flexible handles or a cable. Monitor the draft changes when using the log, as falling soot and tar can clog the chimney. Do not use more than one chimney sweep log per day, as this can cause a significant increase in combustion temperature and ignite the soot in the chimney.
For optimal cleaning of the chimney and solid fuel appliance, alternate the use of chemical agents with mechanical cleaning.
Do not open or damage the paper packaging. It is recommended to wear gloves and safety goggles when handling the product. After contact with the skin, wash the skin with running water and soap. If it gets into the eyes, rinse with water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention (it is advisable to have the packaging of the log with you).
Storage:
Store in tightly closed packaging, separate from food products, in a dry, dark, ventilated place, out of reach of children and animals.
